The Eluru District Administration has officially commenced paddy procurement across multiple government procurement centers to support farmers during the harvesting season. The initiative aims to ensure that farmers receive the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for their produce while eliminating the role of middlemen.

Officials from the Civil Supplies Department, Agriculture Department, and Marketing Department visited procurement centers to inspect weighing facilities, moisture testing equipment, storage arrangements, and payment systems. Farmers arriving with freshly harvested paddy were assisted by staff in completing the procurement process efficiently.

The District Collector directed officials to ensure transparency in procurement, timely weighing of paddy, and prompt online payment directly into farmers’ bank accounts. Special help desks have also been established at procurement centers to address farmers’ grievances and provide information regarding procurement procedures.

Farmers welcomed the initiative, stating that the government procurement system offers fair prices, quicker payments, and a hassle-free selling process. Authorities encouraged all eligible farmers to register their produce through the official procurement system to benefit from the scheme.

District officials assured that procurement operations would continue throughout the harvesting season and that all necessary arrangements had been made to ensure smooth functioning across Eluru District.
