In response to an increase in seasonal illnesses, the Eluru District Health Department launched a district-wide emergency health camp to provide preventive healthcare services and raise public awareness. Medical teams were deployed to urban wards, rural villages, schools, and community centers to conduct free health check-ups and distribute essential medicines.
Doctors, nurses, ANMs, ASHA workers, and health volunteers examined hundreds of residents for symptoms of viral fever, dengue, malaria, typhoid, and other monsoon-related illnesses. Free blood tests, blood pressure screenings, diabetes testing, and general medical consultations were provided to patients.
Health officials also conducted awareness sessions on personal hygiene, mosquito control, safe drinking water, and sanitation practices. Residents received informational pamphlets explaining the importance of early medical treatment and preventive measures to reduce the spread of infectious diseases.
District health authorities stated that surveillance teams have intensified monitoring in vulnerable areas, while municipal staff are carrying out anti-larval spraying, fogging operations, and sanitation drives to eliminate mosquito breeding sites. Special attention is being given to schools and densely populated residential colonies.
The District Administration urged citizens to maintain cleanliness, avoid stagnant water around their homes, and seek immediate medical attention if symptoms such as high fever, body pain, or persistent cough develop. Officials assured that additional health camps would be organized whenever necessary to safeguard public health.
