The Eluru District Animal Husbandry Department has launched a comprehensive Dairy Development Initiative aimed at strengthening livestock farming and increasing milk production across the district. The program focuses on improving the livelihoods of dairy farmers by providing high-yield dairy cattle, veterinary support, and financial assistance under various government welfare schemes.
As part of the initiative, eligible farmers received subsidized dairy cows and buffaloes, along with cattle feed, mineral supplements, and livestock insurance benefits. Veterinary doctors conducted health check-ups, vaccination drives, and artificial insemination services to improve cattle productivity and ensure disease prevention.
Training sessions were organized to educate dairy farmers on scientific livestock management, balanced nutrition, hygienic milk production, disease control, and modern dairy farming techniques. Officials also encouraged farmers to form dairy cooperative societies to improve milk collection, marketing, and access to government incentives.
District officials stated that the initiative will help increase milk production, generate additional income for rural households, and strengthen the dairy sector in Eluru District. Farmers appreciated the government’s continued support and expressed confidence that the program would improve their economic stability.
The Animal Husbandry Department announced that similar dairy development programs, veterinary health camps, and livestock awareness campaigns will continue throughout the year to support sustainable rural development.
