As part of its commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development, the Eluru District Administration organized a large-scale plantation drive across the district. The initiative was carried out in collaboration with the Forest Department, educational institutions, municipal authorities, and various voluntary organizations.
Thousands of saplings, including neem, banyan, peepal, mango, and flowering trees, were planted at schools, colleges, parks, government offices, roadside avenues, and village community spaces. Students, NSS volunteers, municipal workers, government officials, and local residents actively participated in the plantation campaign, highlighting the importance of protecting the environment for future generations.
District officials emphasized that increasing green cover plays a vital role in improving air quality, reducing pollution, conserving biodiversity, and mitigating the effects of climate change. Participants were encouraged not only to plant saplings but also to take responsibility for nurturing and protecting them until they grow into healthy trees.
The District Collector appreciated the enthusiastic participation of citizens and urged every household, educational institution, and organization to contribute towards making Eluru a greener and healthier district. Officials announced that similar plantation drives will continue throughout the year as part of ongoing environmental conservation programs.
The initiative reflects the district administration’s dedication to building a sustainable future while creating awareness about the importance of tree conservation and ecological balance.
