Several parts of Eluru District experienced temporary power disruptions after strong winds and adverse weather conditions damaged electric poles and overhead power lines. The outage affected residential neighborhoods, commercial establishments, educational institutions, and a few government offices, causing inconvenience to residents.
Officials from the Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL) immediately deployed emergency maintenance teams to identify faults and restore electricity at the earliest. Engineers and line staff worked continuously to repair damaged transformers, replace broken electric poles, and reconnect power supply in affected areas.
District officials monitored the restoration process and directed electricity department personnel to give priority to hospitals, water supply systems, and other essential public services. Additional technical teams were mobilized to speed up repair works and minimize disruption.
Authorities appealed to the public to stay away from damaged electric poles, fallen power lines, and waterlogged electrical installations to avoid accidents. Citizens were also requested to report electricity-related emergencies through the APSPDCL customer service helpline.
By evening, electricity was restored to most affected areas, while repair work continued in a few locations. Officials assured residents that the remaining faults would be rectified as quickly as possible and that preventive maintenance would be strengthened to improve the reliability of the power distribution network.
